DAY 1: ARRIVE IN BEIJING
Upon your flight arrival at Beijing airport, our guide will hold a sticker with your name waiting for you at the exit. Pick up and transfer to the hotel. Free at leisure for the rest of the day. You may need some time to relax and recover from the long-distance flight or possibly from jet-lag.
DAY 2: CITYTOUR: VISIT GREAT WALL, SUMMER PALACE
Pick up and transfer to Mutianyu Great Wall. Mutianyu Great Wall has much more watchtowers than normal Great Wall. Altogether, you will find 22 watchtowers on this 1.4 mile stretch of Wall. Fortifications were as well constructed over the both sides of the Great Wall. It also has inner and out barriers that are crenelated with merlons. If you need to get to the highest point, cable car is a good choice (optional). In the afternoon you will enjoy a leisure time at Summer Palace, the best and the biggest imperial garden in China. The garden came into existence in the 1750s and had once been a summer resort for the emperors of Qing Dynasty with gardens, art galleries, pavilions, bridges, lakes, hills, temples, etc. In 1992 it was listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. Transfer back to your hotel.
DAY 3: CITYTOUR: TIAN AN MEN SQUARE, FORBIDDEN CITY, JINGSHAN PARK, WANG FU JING
Pick up from the hotel in the morning. Transfer to Forbidden City, which is China imperial palace through the Mid-Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is situated in the center of Beijing, and today accommodate the Palace Museum. You will have a walk tour through it and then come to the Jingshan Park where you will take a bird’s view of the Forbidden City. Jingshan Park was the imperial park of the royal families in Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, now becomes a public park for local people and visitors. Then proceed to Tiananmen Square , which is the biggest open public square in the world. The Tiananmen Gate on the south of the Forbidden City was constructed in 1415 through the Ming Dynasty. In the afternoon, after typical Chinese lunch, you will enjoy free time at Wangfujing Street that’s the most famous in Beijing. Last, transfer you to the hotel.
DAY 4: DEPARTURE FROM BEIJING
Transfer to the Beijing airport or Beijing train station.
DAY 5: ARRIVE IN ULAANBAATAR.
Upon your arrival in Ulaanbaatar, your preferred language speaking guide will warmly welcome you, and transfer to the hotel you chose. After refreshment, start city exploring the treasures of Ulaanbaatar from Gandan monastery, Main Square Chinggis khan and Zaisan memorial hill. Enjoy a traditional throat singing performance in the evening and have Mongolian traditional meal.
DAY 6: DALANZADGAD (LOCAL FLIGHT) – TRAVEL TO VULTURE VALLEY AND KHONGOR SAND DUNE (230km)
In early morning, you will be transferred to the city airport for morning flight to Dalanzadgad, the capital of Umnugobi aimag, the flight takes hour and a half. Our team will pick you up from Dalanzadgad airport and start our trip from Gurvan Saikhan National Park. Breathe in the crisp, cool air of Vulture Valley (Yolyn Am) today with a stunning hike along a flowing stream. Following the stream, end up at an ice filled gorge and marvel at the meters thick ice that lines the valley. After lunch, you will be driven to Khongor sand dunes. These are Mongolia’s largest sand dunes, reaching height of 300 meters in some areas. The sand dunes change color with each hour of the day, from yellow to silver. Overnight in the tourist camp.
DAY 7: Free relaxing, Camel riding at the Khongor Sand Dunes
We will stay at the Sand Dunes another day to discover this magnificent place on camelback. Mongolia is home to 2/3 of the two-humped Bactrian camels in the world. It is a gentle, calm and extraordinary patient animal and can carry on without water for a month. The Khongor Sand Dunes are the perfect place for camel riding. Riding a Bactrian camel is much more comfortable than the camel in Sahara, India or anywhere else. Its two humps support you from both sides and easy pace will comfort you so much, that you might fall asleep after a while. But don’t fall asleep; see the spectacular view of the surrounding area.
DAY 8: BAYANZAG, LAND OF DINOSAURS (180KM)
Today we will drive to Bayanzag, (known as Flaming Cliffs where the first nest of dinosaur eggs ever discovered was found in 1922) a site famous for the remains of the Dinosaurs which lived here 60 million years ago. What a chance to walk around where the Dinosaurs once roamed and also get to know saksaul trees and other classic desert vegetation. Take stunning hike through the red sand dune. Another highlight of this area is Khavtsgait Khad rock formation with exceptional collection of petroglyphs dating from between 3000BC and 8000 BC. where you can see well preserved petroglyphs of ibexes, horses, camels, and depictions of ancient man drawing their bow and arrow. DAY 9: FLY BACK TO UB. VISIT TERELJ NATIONAL PARK
Today you will be driven fly back to Ulaanbaatar from Dalanzadgad town in Southern province. Arrive at airport in Ulaanbaatar and drive to Terelj National Park. It’s one of the most visited national parks in Mongolia. On the way we will visit Giant Chinggis Khaan statue in Tsonjinboldog hill. The statues in total is 40m high and see as far sighted Chinggis Khaan holds a golden whip in his right hand. Continue to Terelj National park – the most popular destination and the third biggest protected area in Mongolia.You’ll explore the extraordinary formation of rocks and stones; one of them look quite similar to turtle. Overnight in tourist camp.
DAY 10: DEPARTURE FROM UB
After breakfast drive back to Ulaanbaatar and will be transferred to Ulaanbaatar railway station.
DAY 11: ARRIVE IN ULAN-UDE
In early morning you will arrive in Ulan-Ude and our English-Russian speaking guide will meet you at station and transfer to the 3*hotel. After refreshment, take a tour to the village of Old Believers – Russian people, who still live traditionally in a small community in the Buryat Republic. The Old Believers separated after 1666 from the official Russian Orthodox Church as a protest against church reforms introduced by Patriarch Nikon of Moscow between 1652 and 1666. Another name of this people — Semeyskie or Family People — was given because they moved to Siberia with their big families. These special people keep the traditions of their ancestors and have a unique identity. Today you will have a special lunch at Russian family, with Folk performance.
DAY 12: BAIKAL – SIBERIAN BLUE PEARL
After breakfast take a short city tour: you will see its old part of the city, richly carved mansions that once belonged to local merchants and stone buildings of the 18th-19th centuries also you will visit Ivolginskiy datsan – a functioning Buddhist monastery, which is also the capital of Buddhism in Russia. After lunch drive to mysterious Lake Baikal – Wonder of Russia.
DAY 13: EXPLORE LAKE BAIKAL
A day at leisure. You are welcome to choose entertainments to your taste,
enjoy the sandy beach of Sukhaya, the place is famous also for the thermal spring, hiking along the picturesque shore. You can take an amazing motorboat tour to White Rock, get excited for roasted fish over an open fire and finally you may lucky to see Baikal seal, is a species of earless seal endemic to Lake Baikal and the only exclusively freshwater pinniped species.
DAY 14: DEPARTURE TO MOCSOW
After breakfast leave the resort at Baikal Lake and head to Ulan-Ude. You will be transferred to the city airport for flight to Moscow. End or the tour.
