Whenever, your international flight lands in city airport, you will be transferred to the hotel in Ulaanbaatar. Free at leisure for the rest of the day. You may need some time to relax and recover from the long-distance flight or possibly from jet-lag. If you feel like going for a walk and checking out places nearby, feel free to ask from your hotel reception for recommendations.
After breakfast, drive to Giant Chinggis Khaan statue in Tsonjinboldog hill. The statues in total is 40m high and see as far sighted Chinggis Khaan holds a golden whip in his right hand. The statue is considered the biggest statue of an equestrian in the world. See the views of Khentii Mountains and the Tuul River Valley while standing on the mane of the statue horse. Continue journey to Terelj National park – the most popular destination and the third biggest protected area in Mongolia. You’ll explore the extraordinary formation of rocks and stones; one of them look quite similar to turtle. After dinner drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Overnight in hotel.
Today we will explore the Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes. It is a unique place representing features of the Gobi desert, mountain steppes and grasslands in a single area, part of the Mongol Els sand dunes, which stretch from the Tuv, Uvurkhangai, and Bulgan provinces. The sand dunes are 80 km long total. River Tarnat flows in the western part of the sand dunes, it is sodden under its surfaces, so shrubberies such as willow, elm, dogwood, shrubbery grow there. In the north there is the rocky and woody mountain “Khugnu khaan” and in the south lies Mt. Ikh Mongol which defines the central point of Mongolia and is surrounded by the Elsen tasarkhai. You can ride camel or horse to explore the sand dunes. The two-humped Bactrian camels are very comfortable to ride as they walk slowly and gently, and you will be well supported by the humps, sitting comfortably between them. In the Orkhon river valley, beautiful monastery Erdenezuu coexists with Kharkhorin town. The monastery built on the ruins of ancient Mongolian capital Kharakhorum (13th century) using old materials of the destroyed city. Kharakhorum was one of the stops of the famous “Silk Road.” Erdenezuu is the first and the largest monastery in Mongolia keeping religious masterpieces of the 17th-20th centuries. See some valuable religious items in the temple museum and admire its stunning architecture. Next, visit the Kharkhorum Museum and drive up a hill have turtle stone left from the ancient city Kharkhorum.
After breakfast continue our journey to the Tsenkher hot spa, situated between forested hills and breath taking mountains, this hot spring is surrounded by cliffs and rapid rivers. Water from this geological spectacle emerges from the ground at 85.5°C (185.9°F). It is said that the Tsenkher hot springs have healing properties that assist in treating articular diseases and nervous system diseases. Take the chance to unwind today with a trip to the Tsenkher Hot Spa. Settle in to the tourist Ger camp and enjoy a natural hot spring bath. Overnight in tourist Ger camp
After breakfast, we will visit a yak herding nomad family and experience their unique life. 1- 2 hours horse riding with the help of a local equestrian. Have a lunch at the ger camp and move heading legendary Taikhar Rock near the rapid current Tamir River. On the way, we will explore some deer stones date back to The Bronze Age. See the Taikhar Rock and discover the Tamir area.
After breakfast, we will drive to Lake Ugii – is a fresh water lake located in steppe, with a surface area of 25 sq km. It is a stopover point for more than 150 species of migrating waterfowls. Ugii lake has been registered as part of the east-north Asian international networking system that protects goose and duck flocks. In 1971, Ramsar convention registered Ugii lake as a protected water ecosystem. Enjoy hiking, short horse riding along the shore of the breathtaking lake. Take the time to watch the amazing bird life that fills the lake with sound and color. Overnight in tourist Ger camp
In the morning, we will drive to the Hustai National Park. The khustai National Park of Mongolia is world famous for its successful reintroduction of the Przewalski’s horse since 1992. The area in and around the park is rich with archeological and cultural sites. After lunch at Hustai camp, we will visit the small Ger museum about the national park and wild horse. Then we will take short drive and hiking to see the animals in their natural habitat. This is great opportunity to take photo of these endangered horses. If you are lucky, you can see fox, deer, roe deer, eagle, lynx, pallas’ cat and more animals and birds.
We head back to Ulaanbaatar. Once back in UB you will be transferred to hotel. If you would like to do some shopping for souvenirs and cashmeres in Ulaanbaatar, here is the chance and later in the evening, we all attend a live performance of Mongolian National folklore. Overnight in the hotel.
End of tour. You will be transferred to the airport.
